Kevin Nathaniel, the curator for this amazing night, is a world music pioneer and a vital cultural influence on the New York City music scene since the 80's and continuing. He is also renown for the ground breaking African Voices CD (1996 Narada Media), compositions for the film Beloved, headlining the international Heart and Mind Festivals and other conscious music events, and a long list of collaborations with music luminaries.

Mausiki Scales & the Common Ground Collective along with Wordsmiths of the West End bring Storytelling, Spoken Word and Live Jazz to our virtual stage. Spoken word will focus on the rich history of Africa and the lives of Africans in America, specifically highlighting the history and culture of Atlanta’s West End.

In honor of MLK day, Tosinger will be doing a Billie Holiday Classic at Venkman's as part of Catherine Dunne's Broadway Club. Venkman’s is the home of ATL’s most legendary jazz jam, hosted by Joe Gransden and his house band every Tuesday. Dinner reservations are available at Venkmans.com Music starts around 8 PM. TOSINGER is “MamiWota/Mama” in "A song for Adaeze"produced by Chi Ife, co-written by Sunni Williams and directed by Aimee McCoy “A Song for Adaeze” is an Afro-Futurism Musical Production. It is a unique coming of age story rooted in folklore from West Africa and the Diaspora with an eclectic sci-fi twist and an amazing palate of thought-provoking musical numbers.

ATLANTA – Art on the Atlanta BeltLine, in collaboration with Music in the Park, invites community members to a weekend of music and celebration with “BeltLine After Dark x Music in the Park” on Friday, October 18th and Saturday, October 19th, 2019 at several locations along the Atlanta BeltLine’s Westside Trail.

TOSINGER features as a Singer/Actress in the afrofuturistic stage musical
"A song for Adaeze" and as a Storyteller with the Mausiki Scales & Wordsmiths of the West End. See Flyer for details and times

For this 2-day takeover of the Westside Trail, Music in the Park is joining forces with Art on the Atlanta BeltLine to bring you an immersive sensory experience. For 2 days, the Westside Trail will be transformed into an arts wonderland. Gordon White Park will play host to all things music and will act as home base for Music in the Park programming. Guests can follow the BeltLine’s Westside Trail north to encounter pop-up roaming performances, and also visit the historic Ashview Heights meadow as Art on the Atlanta BeltLine curates the Avant Garde Stage with dance, theater, and a little bit of magic. The Westview Drive Bridge will host additional presentations, and late night performances will be featured at Gallery 992.

Events are scheduled on Friday, October 18th and Saturday, October 19th from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: From 5:00 – 11 p.m., White Street will be closed at Gordon White Park between Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. and Hopkins Street.

Society for Africans in the Diaspora Royals' Ball

Join us at the Royals’ Ball for a night of art, fabulous food and entertainment as we officially open the SAiD Pan-African Library to the public. Tosinger will be on the lineup of Live Performers

The Library offers unique, easily customized and state-of-the-art space that is perfect for exhibitions, performances, talks, book readings and signings, theater performances, film screenings, film shoots, breakfasts meeting and fundraisers.

Available individually or combined, the multipurpose space can be customized according to request. SAiD also offers full-service support packages and onsite event planners for the production of all types of events.

The Library is dedicated to the creation and presentation of performing arts programming of all disciplines with a special focus on how the artistic imagination can shed light on the many perceptions of people of African descent in our society.
