In 2019, Atizay launched the Encuentro Afrocostarricense de Artes Visuales (Afro-Costa Rican Visual Arts Gathering), whose goal is to make visible the presence of the black community in the visual arts world in Costa Rica. From October 30 to November 1, 2020, they will hold the second edition of their event. Letter to Tosinger ---"Tosinger, we love your work as a musician/singer and the way you always honor, advocate, and celebrate yourself and culture which resonates with our mission to create spaces to celebrate and amplify the voices of our people. We would be delighted and honored to have you as part of this musical performance"----- The second edition’s theme is Black Resiliency: Coping with a Global Emergency as a Black Artist. They want to invite the audience to get closer to the reality of the black experience around the world and understand how global crises and movements shape it. This year, they want to create a space where our people can find the support they need within the community while enjoying what they are most passionate about. As the second edition will be virtual, they want to make it more fun this year by holding a virtual live concert at the end of the gathering. - The gathering will take place online starting on October 30 at 6:00 p.m. EST and the exhibition will be showcased until November 1. The platforms to be used and the event program will be announced shortly. Your presence and participation in this event would be of great value.
